Clothing Policy:
Life long habits of confidence and self-sufficiency are being developed in our children. It is for this reason that we have a dress policy at the school. It is our honest experience that by ensuring all children are dressed comfortably and are ready to explore freely without worry or constraint, the education experience is enriched for all. At Four Seasons we will be using a school uniform.
The children are required to wear the school shirt each day while attending the school.
Keep in mind that we will encourage a daily trip outdoors for fresh air and fun, so weather appropriate outdoor clothing is necessary. Children are never forced to wear outdoor clothing. Rather good modeling, positive suggestions and natural consequences will be used.
If you have any concerns about this policy please speak to the staff immediately so that any confusion or frustration can be dealt with "up front" and respectfully.
Please ensure that your child can manipulate all their own clothing. This is essential to childrens self esteem and self concept. For example be sure if your child has a belt or laces that they can unbuckle and tie by themselves - if not please use elastic waistbands and Velcro !!
Each child will need to bring a pair of slippers to school that will stay at the school for inside use. Please choose simple slippers (no cartoon characters please). Again please ensure that your child can manipulate the slippers THEMSELVES. Rubber or leather soles are preferred, and canvas slip-on runners will also work well. Since duplication of styles is bound to occur please make sure you have them labeled in permanent marker with your child's name, or initials.
A full second set of clothes should be left in the class at all times in case of accidents or adventures. These should also be in the school colours to avoid embarrassment should a change be necessary.
